Adopting a New Puppy for Christmas
Adding a dog to your family can be an incredibly rewarding experience and it can bring joy to the whole family during the holidays. However, be sure to do your research before bringing a new puppy home so that you know what to expect (breed, size, temperament, special needs, training, socializing, etc.). Taking the time to consider all these factors before you adopt can help ensure that your pup will be well cared for and loved for years to come. Let’s take a closer look at 10 of the adorable puppies in Seattle that you can adopt this Christmas!
1. Amos: Pit Bull Terrier Mix
Meet Amos, the cutest forever puppy in the world! This southern charmer was rescued from a junkyard in Houston, Texas, and has had quite an adventure. After making it all the way to Seattle, Amos suddenly fell ill with Parvo. It was scary for a few days without knowing if he would survive, but this tenacious little pup wasn’t ready to give up just yet! Miraculously, Amos made a full recovery and couldn’t wait to get out of quarantine. Today, this power pooch is full of life and more energetic than ever! Amos loves snuggles and will need a home where he can express and exercise his high-energy puppy self. This loving and playful pup is ready to be your best friend! As a pit bull terrier mix, Amos may grow to be anywhere between 35 to 60 pounds of fun-loving cuteness. With consistent training and socialization, pit bulls like Amos can be wonderful and affectionate companions. It is best not to leave pit bulls alone for long periods of time, however, because they can get melancholic and lonely. Pit bull terriers are typically pretty healthy and live 12 to 14 years.

2. Marcie: Pit Bull Mix
Looking for a beautiful snowball puppy in Seattle with the most perfectly pink ears? Look no further! Marcie is a gorgeous pittie mix pup with the sweetest personality on the planet. From her spotted nose to her stubby tail and multicolored eyes, this beautiful girl would look just perfect in your next family Christmas photo. Marcie got a rough start in life and was dumped at a park in Houston, Texas — but you wouldn’t know that now by how snuggly and loving this tender-hearted girl is! In fact, one of her favorite things to do is curl up in her human’s lap and snuggle. Marcie is trained to use potty pads and enjoys snuggling in her crate with a soft bed and a toy to chew on (told you she was an expert super snuggler). She’s still a baby, so she’s at the perfect age to be introduced to cats or other dogs so they can live a harmonious life together. As a pit bull mix, Marcie would do best in a home where she can spend time inside and not be left alone for long periods of time. Marcie may be tiny now, but this mighty pup will likely grow to between 35 and 50 pounds as an adult. But whatever her size, she will stay loyal and affectionate for life. Pit bull terriers are typically pretty healthy and live 12 to 14 years.

3. Pippin: Mixed Breed (Possibly a Shepherd / Pit Bull Mix)
This adorable mixed-breed pup was born sometime around April 2022. No one knows for sure exactly what breeds are in his ancestry without a DNA test, but the best guesses are shepherd and pit bull, since he’s already 45 pounds. Don’t let his size fool you though; Pippin is a total sweetie and a snuggly cuddle bug! He loves being with his humans, whether watching TV on the couch or playing outside. Pippin also loves his doggie friends and has lived with kitties as well. Since he’s still a pup, he will need continued positive reinforcement training, but he is already crate-trained and house-trained. As a medium to large dog, Pippin will need a home with lots of physical and mental stimulation, as well as lots and lots of love. Pit bull terriers are typically pretty healthy and live 12 to 14 years, and shepherds typically live 9 to 13 years. As a mix, Pippin should enjoy a healthy, long life.

4. Merry: Mixed Breed (Possibly a Shepherd / Pit Bull Mix)
Pippin’s sister Merry is another puppy in Seattle who is looking for a home for Christmas! This adorable goofball is likely a shepherd / pit bull mix, although she is a bit smaller than her brother. She weighed in at 35 pounds in October, but she may still have some room to grow. This girl is a smart pup who is already doing great walking on a leash. She knows several commands, is crate trained, and she’s doing well with potty training. This brainiac will definitely need a home with lots of mental stimulation to keep her busy. Merry has tons of energy and loves going on adventures outside — in fact, she probably would never stop playing if she had the choice. She loves playing with other dogs and would love a playmate to share her home with as well. Pit bull terriers are typically pretty healthy and live 12 to 14 years, and shepherds typically live 9 to 13 years. As a mix, Pippin should enjoy a healthy, long life.

5. Rowan: Husky
Rowan is a young husky puppy in Seattle who is almost one year old, so as far as height goes, he probably won’t get any taller. At the moment he weighs 45 pounds, but he still may add on a few pounds by the time he’s all grown up. Since he is a husky, you know Rowan LOVES to talk and has a ton of energy! He’ll do best in a home that can give him plenty of active play and mental stimulation — he loves sniffing around in the great outdoors, going on walks in the mountains, doing zoomies around the yard, and digging and playing in mud puddles. He even plays fetch with himself! At almost one year old, Rowan already has a head start with basic obedience cues, although he’ll need more training as he continues learning how to be the best husky he can be. This social and friendly boy is crate-trained and house-trained and loves living life to the fullest. As a husky, Rowan has a vital need to be physically active, so he will need vigorous exercise. If left alone and bored, huskies can get into trouble, be destructive, and howl rather than bark. Huskies typically live 12 to 14 years.

He is one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet and is ready for an amazing life with his forever family! As a husky/poodle mix, Grover has a need to always be on the move, so he will need vigorous exercise and plenty of playtime. Grover is good with other dogs and children, but he needs a home without cats. His husky genes also mean that this sweet pooch will need a securely fenced-in yard to play in and lots of active playtime. He might be missing a leg, but Grover is just as energetic and adventurous as any other husky pup out there! As a husky/poodle mix, Grover likely will shed quite a bit (huskies lose their winter coat in the spring). Both of these breeds can be high-energy, lovable, and excellent family dogs if you take the time to train them. On average, a husky/poodle mix has a life expectancy of around 12 to 15 years.
